Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL)

The Postdoctoral Scholar will contribute to the University of Calgary’s engagement in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL).  The SoTL Postdoctoral Scholar will be responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of the Taylor Institute’s SoTL programs and priorities; promoting and supporting SoTL communities of practice on campus; evaluating the impact of SoTL; teaching the Taylor Institute’s SoTL Foundations Program for Graduate Students; supporting SoTL researchers with their lit reviews, ethics applications, and grant applications; and authoring and co-authoring various forms of SoTL research dissemination and knowledge mobilization.  Assets for a competitive application would include familiarity with the literature on postsecondary student learning, qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, and the specific ethical considerations and processes appropriate for studying postsecondary learning in situ.  See the full position advertisement here.

Technology Coach

The Learning Technologies Faculty Support program is now recruiting graduate students who would like to work as part-time technology coaches. Coaches will partner with instructors in participating faculties to better integrate learning technologies into course activities. More information can be found here. 

Communications and Marketing Assistant

The Communications and Marketing Assistant supports the TI in creating communications and marketing collateral. The Communications and Marketing Assistant position includes a range of activity such as preparing and updating social media communications, updating TI website communications, writing UToday stories, providing photography assistance for TI programs and events, and copy editing and formatting TI reports, handouts, resources and guides. Research and Program Evaluation (Ongoing)

The Taylor Institute regularly seeks part-time undergraduate or graduate student assistance in its evaluation, enhancement, and development of programs and activities.  RAs are asked to, for example, research and prepare lit reviews and annotated bibliographies, conduct interviews and focus groups, work with data (e.g., transcribing, coding, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data), and/or work with technology (e.g., website maintenance).  Interested students may submit a CV/resume and a cover letter identifying specific areas of expertise and interest related to the above for us to keep on file as new opportunities arise.
