I stopped by the olympic oval to try a shot of the Fire statue/monument outside. The thing is probably 50′ tall, and looms over the cauldron that burned during the olympics.

the calgary flames played the L.A. kings in the olympic saddledome – the flames won, despite having a defense that completely crumbled (again).
I took the scenic route this morning, and passed the 900km mark beside the olympic oval and Fire statue, on the west end of the main campus.
