spring is finally arriving – the crocii are in bloom along the bow river valley.

we’ve had faint hints of green in the grass, but this is the first genuine sign of springtime life I’ve seen this year.

The flowers in the back garden are finally starting to look flowery…

I’m not sure what these are (cinquefoil?) but they just blossommed en masse on the bluffs overlooking the Bow River. Lots of bright yellow spread along the pathway.

George’s hibiscus was nearly dead when we took it home from his condo. Janice nursed it back to health over the next couple of months, and this morning it blossomed its first flower.

the snow (!) should melt today, and things will turn green quickly. the crocuseses along Bowmont got a head start by popping out before this last (?) snowfall. Within 48 hours, the valley will begin turning lush green. Spring is here, it just doesn’t look springish at the moment…

the first non-evergreen plantlife I’ve seen this year. things are going to change rapidly over the next couple of weeks…
