I managed to snap a spoke on my rear wheel while running an errand at lunch today. I had to borrow a pair of snips to clip it off so I could ride home. Not sure I want to keep riding with one spoke missing and an unknown number of other weakened spokes. More downtime for the bike…

a full 360˚ pano from a spot overlooking the Bow River valley. Just to right of centre is Canada Olympic Park, with the white tents of Cavalia visible beside it.
swollen
the dry pond near our house has a normally tiny creek running beside it – usually no more than a foot across. with the week of rain, it’s swollen to several times higher than normal, rushing over rocks rather than forming a gentle waterfall. the dry pond itself has standing water in it – something that happens only every few years.
