it’s starting to feel like the arctic winter is slowly coming to an end. the sun’s up longer. blue skies. hopefully things start melting soon…
trench henge
the sun sets, directly in line with the trench carved on top of the sidewalk, through the most recent layers of snow.

sunset as I rode home this afternoon. I’m wishing I was about 1,000km in that direction right now…
high noon
noon, on the first day of winter. I’m always struck by how low the sun stays in the winter sky.
solstice
the sun drops between a chinook-powered gap in the clouds, before setting on the Winter Solstice. It gets better.
fading gold
the bowmont pathway is scraped nice and clear – the remaining packed snow gives good traction under studded tires, and the icy spots are flat enough to not be a problem. I’m getting used to winter riding again – riding with the feet clipped in for more of the ride, and working the rear brake more. fun stuff!
