Evan earned a little extra money, and wanted to use it to buy his own microscope. He’s been preparing slides to see what stuff looks like, and sketching notes in his notebook. This morning, he rushed downstairs before anyone else had woken up, to fire up the microscope for a few minutes before getting ready for school. Enthusiasm for science. Awesome.

I spent much of the day crunching a stack of academic papers to prepare my research proposal. It seems for every paper I read, I wind up with several more to follow up with. The stack keeps growing…

I’m working on a paper for an edtech course – drafts and ideas in my moleskine notebook, with text flowing together in OmmWriter.

I set a timer for random(300) minutes. It picked 43, so the @dailyshoot randometime project photo wound up during my paper-writing window this morning. Exciting stuff.

Me, presenting the “Identity in the Open Classroom” session for the From Courses to Dis/course: Exploring the Future of Courses online conference. I picked a topic that I’ve been thinking about, but hadn’t done much with, so it gave me a chance to pour through research and writing on the subject and put together a presentation. I think it went OK, and there was great discussion.

I finally filled up my old Moleskine – after working in it for over 2 years. Time to start a fresh one, and put the old one on the shelf next to the others…
