the City of Calgary Route Ahead project’s twitter feed just posted a link to this awesome timelapse of a C-Train ride from the far northwest terminal (near my house), past my office (right before the first tunnel), through downtown, and then to the Deep South. I love me some HD timelapse train videos…
caught the train today because my bike’s still in the shop. hopefully I get it back soon, so I can get riding again. the spacetrain is cool and all, but doesn’t come close to riding a bike in the morning…
the whole day felt a bit blurry and mindless.
end of the line
one of the original trains, waiting at the end of the line before heading back into the city. for me, the last morning train ride of the year.
the train approaches crowfoot station, before turning around and heading back into the city on a cold, cold snowy morning. also, cold.
We headed down to MEC to pick up some stuff to make me a little more visible on my bike, now that night riding season is here. I came out with a dorky reflector vest, a spoke light, and some reflector stickers for the bike frame. I should be pretty visible, now.
Also, these towers always catch my eye when I’m in this part of downtown. Something about the curved corners, tinted windows, and lines…
the morning train, just after pulling out of the station at the end of the line.
autumn train bridge
one of the railway bridges crossing the bow river between silver springs and bowness. I took the long route home, down along the river before climbing back up the BFH.
