Blackboard

content imageBlackboard is the recently adopted U of C course management system standard, offering a ‘virtual classroom’ for teaching and learning.

Using Blackboard, faculty can enhance student learning by publishing supplemental course materials, providing tools for on-going dialogue outside of class time, bringing the power of the web to course design, and delivering courses to remote locations.

Blackboard features include:

  • threaded discussion boards
  • group project organization
  • on-line test/quiz functionalities
  • electronic assignment submission

Blackboard has gained popularity in use by both instructors and students. The Teaching & Learning Center assists in the adoption and ongoing use of blackboard by providing consultations and training sessions for instructors.
