spring morning walk
another awesome spring morning, as I walked to the bus stop after leaving the bike at home today…
welcome home
we landed back in calgary just as the first wave of a “severe winter storm” hit. I was scraping snow off the car, while wearing shorts and jesus sandals. later that morning, we had anywhere between 6″ and 2′ of snow (depending on wind). awesome.
back behind the wheel
Bureaucracy finally moved, and I was able to get my license renewed today, after several months without. Awesome. I’d rather be riding my bike, though… We’ve gotten used to being a single-car single-driver car, so we’ll likely leave the second vehicle parked in the garage, uninsured, until summer.
stopped
I had to walk through this section. Didn’t want to risk riding on the road here, with cars slipping all over the place.
I eventually gave up on walking through the drifts and rode on the ice road. Studded tires are pretty amazing.
parked
the province denied my driver’s license medical renewal, so I get to stay parked until it gets reviewed. bureaucracy is awesome.
following
we rode our bikes to evan’s friend’s house in a neighbouring community – which meant we followed part of the route from my daily commute. It felt pretty cool, with evan following along.
