liftoff
Heading into the Foothills hospital this morning, the STARS air ambulance was just lifting off from the helipad beside the bus stop. Someone’s day started really, really badly.

we installed a new subfloor in a kitchen this afternoon, before hanging a set of new cupboards. it’s going to look fantastic when it’s all done. then, I went home to my old, cheap kitchen…
puzzled
I had the task of piecing together bits of 40 year old plywood, to match the oddly shaped gaps on one wall of the house. A Skil saw is not a precision instrument. Not perfect fits, but good enough to cover things before the wrap and stucco are applied.
space pipes
we started installing the central vac system at the Renovation House, wrapping the plastic pipes in insulation because we had to route them through the attic.

evan stacks the last of the wood that was taken out of his uncle’s house during renovations. now, for rebuilding…
on the road again
I haven’t driven since May. Stupid brain. Got the all-clear today, so The Boy™ and I went for a quick drive on an errand after supper.
demolished
nearly all of the demolition work is done – some drywall is still left, but it can wait until framing starts.
climber
Evan climbs out of their fort between foundations in his cousin’s house. By next week, this will all be framed in as an exterior wall.
He conquered a huge fear of climbing above the third rung to do this. Awesome.

the renovation project continues. today, we tore out a bunch of drywall, and removed some interior framing. glad it’s not our house…
