swollen
the dry pond near our house has a normally tiny creek running beside it – usually no more than a foot across. with the week of rain, it’s swollen to several times higher than normal, rushing over rocks rather than forming a gentle waterfall. the dry pond itself has standing water in it – something that happens only every few years.

I haven’t driven since May. Stupid brain. Got the all-clear today, so The Boy™ and I went for a quick drive on an errand after supper.

I was pretty well soaked through by the time I got to campus, but at least it was still liquid precipitation…
motivating sky
as I was riding home, I could see a system moving in, with many rainy squalls and distant lightning. it kept me pushing hard, despite the headwind, and I managed to get home in record time – about 2 minutes before the monsoon hit my house.
