it rained overnight, turning into very wet snowfall early this morning. the city is a bit slushy now, and it’s sticking to everything. not much fun to ride in that stuff. and it’s supposed to get arctic cold soon, which will turn this into a slippery, dangerous mess. fun stuff.
dormant pool
the silver springs community pool lays dormant for the winter, full of snow. one day, a few months from now, it will be full of happy people splashing in the heat of summer.

The gravel and sand has been largely blown onto the side of the road, keeping the bike route well gritted. I usually ride on the left edge of this strip, and move over into it as needed – it can be a bit sketchy riding in it, as it sometimes piles up unexpectedly, grabbing at the front tire as you plow through it.

I stopped at Christopher’s bench to ditch my outer jacket, tuque, and change gloves. I can’t explain it, but this area feels like home – although I’ve never actually lived in Silver Springs.
