impending stormishness
a spring storm brewing over the foothills. I didn’t make it home before the sky opened up. lots of electricity, noise, and BIG raindrops. It was actually a lot of fun to end the ride in a decent storm.
note the disembodied human feet… I was rushing to finish the pano, because I was being swarmed by mosquitos.
battle
crows and hawks battle for aerial supremacy over the bow river valley. I don’t know who won – I had to move on…
cloudfall
a storm system moves into NW Calgary, from the Rocky Mountains to the southwest.

Lightning strikes just west of Calgary as an afternoon storm rolls in from the foothills.
I didn’t have a tripod with me, so used a barbed wire fence post as a monopod, and used the remote trigger to set off longish exposures.

dry lightning at sunset, with golfball sized hail and potential for tornadoes forecast overnight. w00t!
