skeleton crew
I was standing at the bus stop, headed to the other campus for a meeting, when a batch of Mini-U kids poured out of the BioSci building. Where else can a group of kids casually cross a road while traveling with a fully articulated adult human skeletal model? Awesome.
snowy biosci stop
heading into the TLC before a day of meetings. looking forward to leaving the white blanket behind…
arctic
another cold snap hit overnight. windchill at the bus stop this morning was -39˚C. It got colder throughout the day. I’m so fracking ready for spring.
trench henge
the sun sets, directly in line with the trench carved on top of the sidewalk, through the most recent layers of snow.
brrrrr…
waiting for the morning bus. several scheduled buses in a row didn’t show up, due to weather.
the bmw covered in snow was abandoned a couple of days ago, when the storm first hit.
stopped
I had to walk through this section. Didn’t want to risk riding on the road here, with cars slipping all over the place.
I eventually gave up on walking through the drifts and rode on the ice road. Studded tires are pretty amazing.
5000km
I passed the 5000km mark for distance ridden since Jan 1, 2009 this morning as I rode through Scenic Acres before sunrise.
it was tricky to get this shot – a 30s long exposure – without a tripod. I used the rear rack of my bike, with a glove propping the camera into roughly estimated position. It’s hard to aim a 50mm lens accurately by guessing (I couldn’t see through the viewfinder because the saddle was in the way…)
relentless
more. snow.
