Brit Paris

Research Assistant

As Program Assistant, Brit provides ongoing support to the Program Coordinator and Communications Coordinator on a variety of projects, initiatives and events in the EDU, including workshop delivery and evaluation and the annual conference. Brit is also a Research Assistant to Cheryl Jeffs, providing support on a Teaching and Learning Grant project to develop a new open-access publication for the proceedings of the University of Calgary Conference on Learning and Teaching.

Brit comes to the EDU with previous degrees in German, Linguistics and Education and a professional background in teaching German in K-12. Her research passions are assessment and second language pedagogy. She is currently working towards a Master of Arts in the Werklund School of Education, focusing on student reactions to written corrective feedback meant to improve second language writing ability. Brit is also passionate about student engagement and knitting.
