got to the office well before sunrise this morning, and caught the amazing golden light reflecting through my office window as I was working in near darkness.
it was so dark in the office that I had to use a cinema display as a makeshift tripod to get the 1 second exposure.
The office is pretty empty today, with the rest of my team away in Vancouver for FOBL. It’s also unseasonably dark, so I’m hibernating in my office hacking away on UCalgaryBlogs.ca
I was finally able to bring the sign that Evan made for the finish line of the Ride to Conquer Cancer. I hung it above the posterboard in my office.
Me, presenting the “Identity in the Open Classroom” session for the From Courses to Dis/course: Exploring the Future of Courses online conference. I picked a topic that I’ve been thinking about, but hadn’t done much with, so it gave me a chance to pour through research and writing on the subject and put together a presentation. I think it went OK, and there was great discussion.
I finally filled up my old Moleskine – after working in it for over 2 years. Time to start a fresh one, and put the old one on the shelf next to the others…

I’ve been finding these Star People showing up in my notes and whiteboards ever since Northern Voice 2009 where Nancy White introduced them as part of her hands-on Graphic Recording workshop during Moose Camp.
when Telus hooked us up to TelusTV last year, they sent out a network tech to install the extra switches to drive the LAN that hooked the TVs up to their network. We finally decided to clean up the spaghetti they left behind. Our home network consists of a DSL modem, an Apple Airport Extreme base station, an ethernet-to-coax converter, and at least 3 5-port 100MB ethernet switches. I remember when it was simple to get a TV signal. I miss rabbit ears.
