Preparing a 3M National Teaching Fellowship Nomination: Describing and Evidencing Educational Leadership

The 3M National Teaching Fellowship is a prestigious recognition that celebrates extraordinary teachers and exemplary educational leaders in the Canadian post-secondary environment. This session is part of an on-going series of gatherings to support potential 3M nominees and their nominators at the University of Calgary. In this fourth gathering, we will focus on the educational leadership aspect of the 3M nomination package. This working session will provide participants an opportunity to draft or review their educational leadership philosophy statement and to reflect on and select their best evidence to support their leadership practice. We will provide guiding questions and a framework for the educational leadership philosophy statement, and examples of statements and what might constitute evidence in this realm. By the end of the session you will have a draft of an educational leadership statement and a list of initiatives that you intend to highlight as evidence in your 3M nomination package.
